Starting in the fall of 2026, the state program “Vlasna Sprava” will switch to a new format: more money, broader opportunities, and separate conditions for veterans, youth, and families of defenders. The government is effectively restarting the grant system so that Ukrainians can not only start a business, but also scale it up even in difficult war conditions.<\/em><\/p>\n

Ukraine is updating one of the most popular small business support programs, Vlasna Sprava. From September 1, 2026, it will operate under a new model that will cover the full cycle of business development: from the first idea to scaling an already existing business.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced the changes, emphasizing that the program has already become one of the largest tools for supporting entrepreneurship within the framework of the state policy \u201cMade in Ukraine\u201d. According to her, microgrants have helped more than 34 thousand Ukrainians start their own business, create about 60 thousand jobs and attract more than 6.8 billion hryvnias to the economy.<\/p>\n

The main innovation is that now the program will have two major areas. The first is starting a business. Ukrainians who are just planning to open their own business will be able to receive from 100 to 300 thousand hryvnias, and in some cases up to 500 thousand. The second is scaling. For entrepreneurs who are already working and want to expand production, launch new areas or increase their team, funding from 500 thousand to 1.5 million hryvnias is provided, with a potential increase to 2.5 million.<\/p>\n

The amount of support will depend not only on the business idea. The government will take into account the number of new jobs, region, field of activity and category of the applicant. This means that socially important projects or businesses in priority sectors may receive more resources.<\/p>\n

Funds are allowed to be directed to key development needs: purchase of equipment, rental or renovation of premises, digitalization of processes, marketing, expansion of the team and development of production. This approach makes the program not just financial assistance, but a real tool for launch or growth.<\/p>\n

A separate emphasis is on supporting those who have suffered the most from the war. In 2026, the government expanded the conditions for veterans, combatants, people with disabilities as a result of the war, their families, as well as families of fallen defenders. For them, the volume of microgrants has been increased to 300\u2013500 thousand hryvnias, depending on the number of jobs created.<\/p>\n

Young people also have more chances. Ukrainians under the age of 25 will be able to apply for grants of up to 200 thousand hryvnias to start their own business. This is an important signal that the state is betting not only on the recovery of the economy, but also on the formation of a new generation of entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the government is updating other areas of support – in particular, grant mechanisms for gardening, berry growing, viticulture, greenhouse farming, as well as the construction of modern vegetable and fruit storage facilities. This means that the emphasis is not only on small business in general, but also on the development of specific sectors of the economy.<\/p>\n

In fact, the new model of “Vlasnaya Sprava” is an attempt to create a more systematic ecosystem of entrepreneurship in Ukraine. Not just to provide start-up capital, but to help businesses survive, grow, and create new jobs.<\/p>\n

For many Ukrainians who have long postponed the idea of \u200b\u200bstarting their own business due to lack of resources, the updated program may be a chance to start now. And for those who are already working, it may be an opportunity to move to a new level even in times of great economic turbulence.
